Hibiscus flower: The beautiful, fragile, and gentle hibiscus flower:
Hibiscus is a national flower. The hibiscus has its origin in Southeast Asia, where it also has great symbolic meaning. It is venerated as a national flower in South Korea (Hibiscus syriacus) and Malaysia (Hibiscus rosa-sinesis). The “imperishable flower” stands for determination and perseverance. In China, it means wealth, splendor, and fame. Malaysian women decorate their hair with it.
Wooden pieces which are supposed to be inserted into the body are best treated before first use and regularly later on with Jojoba or Linseed Oil. These oils harden when exposed to oxygen and protect the wood. This can darken the material a bit. We also recommend to additionally seal the wood with bees wax. Depending on how often you wear your jewelry this should be repeated regularly.
Jewelry from organic materials (i.e. wood, horn and bone) offers best wearing comfort due to its light weight and is suitable for people with allergies. As opposed to Piercing-Jewelry made from synthetic materials or stainless steel the formation of odors during wearing is greatly reduced. When used as intended the jewelry is harmless but not sterilizable. It will last a very long time given regular cleaning and correct treatment.
Attention: Small jewelry is not suitable for children under 3 years. Danger of swallowing!
