The triskel is an ancient symbol made up of three spirals in an equilateral triangle. It usually is allocated to the celtic culture. In fact it can be found in almost any culture of the world. The first known triskels have been dated to the Neolithic, thus to a period before the great cultures (Celts, Egyptians,...). The triskel symbolizes the number Three - the trinity goddess (virgin, mother, wise old), the cycle of life (birth, life and death), past, present and future and the celtic trinity of water, land and sky.
The Tomoe or Tomoe-mon symbolizes the Japanese deity Hachiman and is used today as house coat, shrine symbol or company logo. The triple Tomoe is the most common and the open space resembles a Triskele.
Shuriken is the name for Japanese small arm of the Samurai. In our linguistic usage, the word ninjastern or litter star has been used. A shuriken can have between 3 and 8 blades and can be a dangerous weapon.
