A very beautiful and rare piece of body jewelry. Even in the smaller sizes the detail of the carving is astonishing. Small differences are possible however because the motif has been carved individually into every plug by hand.

Jewelry from organic materials (e.g. wood, horn and bone) provide great comfort due to their light weight. As opposed to piercing jewelry from artificial materials or metals the development of odors while wearing them is greatly reduced. This article is available in different sizes and as custom-made oversize product. When used properly the jewelry is harmless but cannot be sterilized.

Turtle mythology:
Turtles are represented in various mythologies. In the ancient cosmogonies of many Asian cultures the earth is a round surface on the primordial sea and in order not to sink and remain quietly in position it needs a carrier, which supports the earth. This is in any case represented by an animal and very often a turtle.
The starting point for many Asian myths is the Indian concept of the god Vishnu, the earth's serpent Ananta-Shesha that lies on the bottom of the ocean, guarding the creation. In his second incarnation he transforms himself into the turtle Kurma, which serves as the basis for the world axis formed by Mount Mandara.
In the whirling of the ocean of milk, gods and demons in the battle against each other put a whisker in rotation on the back of the turtle, which creates a series of divine beings and precious objects.
